Tata Tinplate PDF Print E-mail

Profile
The Tinplate Company of India (TCIL), an associate enterprise of Tata Steel, pioneered the manufacture of tinplate in India. TCIL is today the country’s largest producer of tinplate, with a market share of over 35 per cent.

TCIL has achieved its leadership position by continuously reengineering its practices. The company recently entered into a technical agreement with Nippon Steel of Japan and its future focus is on developing cost-effective and innovative packaging solutions that offer convenience features to food processors and packers as well as end customers.

TCIL is an ISO 9001:2000 and ISO1400:1996 certified company.

Areas of business
TCIL is the industry leader in India, with capabilities to supply all tinning line products. The company’s main products are electrolytic tinplate / tin-free steel and cold-rolled products. It manufactures electrolytic tinplates / tin-free steel — from hot-rolled coils supplied by Tata Steel — for can fabrication to pack edible oils, processed foods, dairy products, beverages, pesticides, and paints, and for manufacturing battery components.

TCIL has domestic and foreign customer groups. The company’s tinning line products contribute about 90 per cent to its turnover, 75 per cent of which is generated from the domestic market. The balance accrues from exports to West Asia, South East Asia and countries neighbouring India.

TCIL is a founder member of the Tinplate Promotion Council (TPC) of India, which also comprises Tata Steel, the Steel Authority of India and 12 major can fabricators / fillers. The council focuses on industry-level relationships and is reaching out to food processors / fillers to drive tinplate consumption in the country. TPC is also involved in product-market development, marketing communication and in addressing the regulatory environment.

  • Jaspal Sing : An ace shooter shoots and gets gold medal, govt gives 1cr, another shooter dies while shooting terrorist, govt gives 5 lakh.
  • Jaspal Sing : these Jawans lay down their lives to protect every Indian and these cricketers get paid even if they lose a match, we worship these cricketers and forget the martyrdom of these brave Jawans.
  • Jaspal Sing : What a shame and disgrace to every citizen of India that the elite NSG Force was transported into ordinary BEST buses, whereas our cricketers are transported into state of the art luxury buses.
  • Jaspal Sing : a few thoughts to share with you and citizen of Jamshedpur
  • Rajesh Pras :
  • Rajesh Pras : Lets not blame the system if we stop asking favours then they cannot command favours.
  • Rajesh Pras : So atleast we can create a parallel community of like minded people who atleat meet atleast on saturday evening and/or sunday without any political affiliation and instead waiting for some other will lead, let's do it.We can give the system a WAKE UP CALLS and we ourselves will have to learn and practice not to get tempted to get our things done at the cost of others...which of course requires the path of corruption.
  • Rajesh Pras : Dear Jaspal I do agree that ballot is very powerful tool but if you have the option of candidate is limited and unless we have negative voting rightb to discard the candidates we will have only the worst option to select and ofcourse who is less......
  • Jaspal Sing : Why blame our politicians? Let us blame ourselves for the situation we find ourselves in. If we want this state of affairs to change, then that change has to first happen to ourselves; that change has to first happen within ourselves. The politician understands only one language - that of the ballot. He knows who will vote and who will not.
