Jamshedpur, Sept. 26: It was a day where the best brains were rewarded for thinking “out of the box”.

The Tata Crucible Business Quiz this year has taken place in the 16 cities with the last preliminary round concluding in Jamshedpur today.

About 62 teams from 10 Tata group firms in the steel city participated in the quiz. The teams had to go through a preliminary round where six teams qualified for the final round.

“It is a fun learning process. This is a platform where professionals can enjoy as well as learn,” said said Giri Balasubramaniam, the quiz master of the event today.

In the preliminary rounds today, 25 questions were put forward before the teams.

Six teams were chosen on the basis of their scores. These teams will compete in the finals with other cities in Mumbai on October 2.

The Tata Crucible Business Quiz has also gone international from last year. It has started with the Singapore edition and by the end of this year there will be a London edition.

“There is a niche audience for brainstorming sessions like these. With this quiz, we aim to take it to a larger audience, that is the corporate world,” said Balasubramaniam. The quiz has been divided into two groups — Tatas and non-Tatas employess — in other cities.

The team from Tata Steel emerged as the winner with Tata Consultancy Services as the runner-up. The winning team was given Rs 75,000 cash.
