Jamshedpur, May 26: The family of murdered shoe baron Ashish Dey is living in fear even as the court of chief judicial magistrate today issued a showcause to the investigating officer in the Dey murder case. After the recent firing in front of the house at Aam Bagaan in Sakchi, Dey’s house has virtually turned into a fortress. A section of armed police force and a police officer has been deployed at the house. Earlier, only one section had been posted there. In addition, sand bags and other communication gadgets have been fixed at the house. The idea was to install a sense of security in the mind of the harried family members of Dey. On May 16, residents of Aam Bagan had woke up to the sound of gunshots outside Dey’s house. Two unidentified gunmen had opened fire at the house, ignoring the armed policemen posted there. Soon after, East Singhbhum superintendent of police Naveen Kumar Singh had suspended three constables on charge of dereliction of duty. The firing had taken place the day Amlesh Singh, one of the suspects in the murder case, was sent for a narco analysis test to Bangalore. Meanwhile, the police have also been criticised for their role in handling Amlesh. According to sources in the prosecution, the police had taken Amlesh for a five-day police remand to Bangalore, but they have not brought him back as yet. The court of chief judicial magistrate, P.K. Moitra, today issued a showcause notice to Jaiprakash Yadav, the investigating officer in the Dey murder case, in this regard. According to another development, the high court has asked for transfer of the narco analysis report of Vinod Singh, one of the prime suspects in the case. “The bail petition of Vinod Singh is pending for hearing with the high court, which has asked for the narco analysis test of the accused,” said an official in the district prosecution’s office. According to the official, the high court has asked for the narco analysis reports from both the forensic science laboratory of Gandhinagar and Bangalore. Sources said a special messenger of the court of first additional district judge will go to Ranchi with the narco analysis reports on Vinod Singh.
