Jamshedpur, Oct. 7: The police team investigating the murder case of Jairam Singh is on the lookout for the shooters said to be the residents of Kasidih. Jairam, the security inspector with Tata Main Hospital, was shot on October 3 and he succumbed to bullet injury on Monday. While the police is yet to ascertain the cause of murder, sources in the department said that investigation team might consider the reported link of the victim with the Kalimati shootout accused as a reason. In 2004, a land dispute had resulted in a clash between two groups at Kalimati in which three persons including a 12-year-old child were killed. The case is in the court and one of the accused is in jail. “The police is working on specific inputs given by Singh’s family. The Kalimati theory cannot be overlooked in a jiffy. We are trying to find leads so that the reason for the murder can be found out soon,” East Singhbhum superintendent of police Naveen Kumar Singh said. “The clues which we have collected have helped us so far. We are confident of cracking the case soon,” he said. So far, the police have arrested 12 persons with a criminal history. Sources said that family members of Jairam Singh have given specific information to the police that the shooters are based in Kasidih. Singh said that the police team is in touch with the family of the victim and would came up with the sketch of the shooter after getting specific details from the eyewitnesses. Meanwhile, sources revealed that Singh, besides functioning as a security inspector with Tata Main Hospital, also used to liaison for one of the parties involved in the Kalimati Road firing case. Recently, two witnesses in the Kalimati case had turned hostile in the court and rumours are ripe that Jairam had a role in influencing them, sources said.
