Twelve-year-old Shashank Thakur, a Class VII student of Ramkrishna Mission English School in Bistupur, has been named for the President&amp;rsquo;s bravery award. He had risked his own life to save that of a one-year-old girl last year. 																						 														   				  								 																								In a letter to the awardee, Union home secretary Madhukar Gupta has said that the President of India has conferred the Jeevan Raksha Padak on him and the same will be handed over by the Jharkhand government at a state-level function in Ranchi. Shashank will receive a medal, a cash prize and a certificate for &amp;ldquo;showing extreme courage&amp;rdquo;. The date of the function will be announced soon.</description>

The steel major was awarded the President&amp;rsquo;s Trophy for the overall good performance at the All-India Apprentices Competition held in November 2007. 																						 														   				  								 																								The directorate of general employment and training, which functions under the Union ministry of labour and employment, had organised the contest in various trades twice a year. In the 79th All India Competition for Apprentices held at Advanced Training Institutes in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Howrah and Kanpur, three trade apprentices of Shavak Nanavati Technical Institute (SNTI), a technical institute promoted by Tata Steel, were declared winners and three others were declared runners-up.</description>

Therefore, we have decided to work in the grassroots and fight the evil with students. The professor and head of the department of obstetrics and gynaecology Karmila Kujur prefers to attend to patients at a private nursing-home rather than fulfilling her duty at the government medical college hospital.  																						 														   				  								 																								The gynaecologist also carries out her private practice during duty hours despite several complaints from patients.  																						 														   				  								 																								Patient Amerjeet Kaur was at the MGM Medical College Hospital to check a uterus-related problem two-months ago. Luckily she met Kujur, who had suggested a surgery to remove the uterus. It has been two months since then but the patient&amp;rsquo;s wait for Kujur has not ended. </description>
