Jamshedpur, Nov. 29 ( source - The Telegraph ): The mediation centre at the local court here has got a new look.
The centre on the ground floor of the court has been given a corporate touch after a unique initiative of the court authorities who had been planning to do something for the facility.
Litigants and court counsels, who earlier had to think twice to spend time at the mediation centre, would not now hesitate to drop anchor under its pleasant environs.
A couple of split air-conditioners, carpet, furniture, light-fittings, a large flower vase at one corner of the room and a fresh coat of paint have certainly given gloss to the centre. Court authorities kept a constant watch over the work in progress when the centre was being renovated.
The mediation centre was inaugurated by district and sessions judge S.H. Kazmi in the presence of East Singhbhum deputy commissioner Rabindra Agrawal, police superintendent Navin Kumar Singh and other court officials.
A woman’s small step wins big laurels
Jamshedpur, Nov. 28 (Source-The Telegraph): Those who believe women lack the brain for business must meet Mansi Guha.
A widow, Guha has achieved what many men have failed to. She has taken her company, Sneha Electronics, a small-scale unit that manufactures automobile components, to new heights by multiplying its annual turnover to over Rs 50 lakh in just three years.
And her hard work paid off when she received an award (the first prize) from the state for registering the maximum turnover. The award takes into account a company’s performance for three years. Guha was felicitated at a function in the capital on November 25.
Guha had started her business from a small place in the Kharagajhar area of Telco. But she slowly climbed the ladder by using her business acumen. “The company was started on my initiative in 1982. But my husband used to assist me in running the unit. But after his demise in 1999, I had to step in his place and take the reins completely in my hand. However, running the company all alone was not that easy and I learnt it the hard way,” said Guha.
Bright minds tackle brain-teasers
Jamshedpur, Nov. 28 (Source-The Telegraph): Environment is one of the biggest concerns today and corporate houses like Tata Steel are doing all it takes to educate students about it.
Mindblaster, an inter-school quiz competition on environment organised by The Society for Promotion and Professional Excellence (SPPE), a wing of Tata Steel and sponsored by the Corporate Affairs and Communications was held at Loyola School today.
Even in its eighth year, the motive of Mindblaster remains the same. It aims to entertain students and help them learn about the environment. To fulfil this two-fold agenda, SPPE organises the event in the school circuit every year.
Rajendra Vidyalaya passed the brain test this time and were declared the winners of Mindblaster, followed by Jamshedpur Public School and Sacred Heart Convent School, respectively.
