Sapphire group for centenary Tata fair |

Jamshedpur, Dec. 28: The Sapphire Creations team, known for being experimental, radical and dynamic, will be here to perform at the Shatrang Mela, scheduled to begin at Gopal Maidan from January 2, as part of the Tata centenary celebrations. The troupe led by choreographer Sudarshan Chakarvorty is said to be Eastern India’s only experimental dance group and has already participated in major concerts in countries like Malaysia, Australia and Thailand. “Sapphire has performed in major art festivals and events in India and abroad,” said a Tata Steel spokesperson. The four-day mela will begin with a colourful ceremony and the Shatrang song, especially composed by a rock band from Calcutta.

जमशेदपुर। टाटा स्टील प्रबंधन ने कंपनी के चीफ आपरेटिंग आफिसर (स्टील) एचएम नेरूरकर और उपाध्यक्ष (इंजीनियरिंग सर्विसेज एंड प्रोडक्ट्स) आर पी सिंह का कद ऊंचा कर उनके दायरे को बढ़ा दिया है। वहीं आईटी (स्टील) के चीफ एस मोकाशी की जिम्मेवारियों में भी बढ़ोत्तरी की गयी है। एच एम नेरूरकर अब तक चीफ आपरेटिंग आफिसर (स्टील) के पद पर कार्य कर रहे हैं। नयी जिम्मेवारी के तहत उनके पदनाम से स्टील शब्द हटा लिया गया है। यानी श्री नेरूलकर अब टाटा स्टील के चीफ आपरेटिंग आफिसर होंगे। स्टील शब्द हटने से उनका दायरा व्यापक हो गया है। वहीं इंजीनियरिंग सर्विसेज एवं प्रोडक्ट्स के उपाध्यक्ष रामप्रीत सिंह का पदनाम बदलकर इंजीनियरिंग एवं प्रोजेक्ट्स कर दिया गया है। अर्थात वे अब इंजीनियरिंग सर्विसेज की बजाय पूरी कंपनी में इंजीनियरिंग एवं प्रोडक्ट्स विभागों का संचालन करेंगे।

All these and much more would now be available under one roof in the heart of the city in Bistupur. Christened Duck Chicken, this 60-cover restaurant on Diagonal Road in Bistupur is the first franchise of the Delhi-based Dreams Food India Private Limited in the state. Scheduled to open tomorrow, the restaurant would, however, begin as an Indian speciality centre. The company right now has over seven Duck Chicken outlets spread across the country in places like Mumbai, Delhi, Greater Noida and Bhilai.

Date set for forensic campus shift |

Jamshedpur, Dec. 27: The forensic medicine and toxicology department would shift from the Sakchi campus of MGM Medical College and Hospital to the health hub’s Dimna address in mid-January. The classes of medics are conducted at Dimna while the hospital is in Sakchi. Head of the forensic medicine and toxicology department Y. Nath said the construction work of the new mortuary on the premises of the medical college in Dimna was complete. He has asked the principal of the government medical college to seek district administration’s help for the shifting process as there might be protest from the people residing near the medical college.

Jamshedpur, Dec. 27: XLRI would virtually determine the business future of towns in India. For, the premium B-school is set to conduct nationwide survey on trading potential of the prominent cities. XLRI would carry out the study based on yardsticks like availability of raw materials, infrastructure, skilled labour, power supply, frequency of trade union activities and the demography of each city. Most of the metros, tier-two and tier-three cities would be rated by the survey, which would also aim at sensitising the local government about the business potential of different places. Both qualitative and quantitative methods would be used in conducting the survey.
