Jamshedpur, Jan. 25: This summer, when students would be enjoying the vacation, three pupils would be meeting dignitaries such as Kofi Annan at a conference at the UN headquarters. Shruti Raghavan, Dhawal Shah and Abhishek Ghosh — Class XII students of Loyola — are among the 30 selected to represent the country at The Global Young Leaders Conference (GYLC) to be held in the USA in June. The event would be held at Washington DC and New York between June and August. The leadership development program brings together students from across world. Some of the world’s leading names in business, policy affairs, journalism, diplomacy and academics are expected to participate in the event. “A conference like this would help us develop our personality, and the interaction with big names from various walks of like is something I am looking forward to,” said Abhishek, a national basketball player. The letter containing the detailed schedule of event reached the students on Wednesday. The three have been asked to select a time slot between June to August and prepare on topics they would like to speak about at the conference.
