Jamshedpur, March 25: XLRI recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with School of Management, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand. One of India’s premier B-schools signed the MoU to improve the “reach” of its students and provide them a possibility of complete education, said XLRI sources. he proposal was on the cards for a while, but was recently cleared to allow students to go in for an international student-exchange programme. Under the new partnership, XLRI would be looking towards student exchange programmes and research project collaborations.Students of business management and personnel and industrial relations, would be sent for three months to the AIT from 2007 June. However, the number of students is yet to be determined. From the 2005-06 batch, six students have already been sent for the student-exchange programme and four have been sent to Asian Institute of Management, Manila. As part of the agreement, students would also be allowed the chance to take part in research programmes. The move is aimed at promoting cross cultural learning and international cooperation and exchange of ideas, backgrounds, and views on political, social, economical and legal points.
