Fan goes beyond b’day bash PDF Print E-mail

Jamshedpur, May 15: Pappu Sardar, a die-hard fan of Madhuri Dixit, today gifted the inmates of Cheshire Home an elaborate party on the occasion of the glamour queen’s birthday.

Twenty-five specially abled people of the home enjoyed themselves to the hilt at the bash.

Pappu not only hosted a cake cutting ceremony, but also distributed food packets to them.

He put up a large number of food stalls and ensured that nothing went wrong at the party.

But Pappu’s celebrations were not confined to partying only. He promised a room for doctors at the Cheshire Home by Raksha Bandhan this year.

“Doctors do visit the Cheshire Home, but there is no designated room for them with all the medical equipment,” said Pappu Sardar, who is also the owner of the popular Manohar Chaat shop in Sakchi.

So, he has decided to renovate a room on the premises of Cheshire Home to facilitate better medical treatment for children. Pappu promised that the amenities would be in place at the time of Raksha Bandhan, when he visits the place to enjoy the day with the children.

The mention of the festival lightens up his face. For, Madhuri Dixit tied rakhi around his wrist when he met her in Mumbai for the first time in October last year.

Glimpses of meeting his idol in person would no more remain private as Pappu released a calendar with the picture of their meeting this evening. Designed in an innovative style, the calendar starts from May 15, 2008 and ends on May 14, 2009.

“I thought it to be a good idea to release this kind of a calendar. People will get to see something unique,” said an enthusiastic Pappu, adding that the idea originated from the fact that different communities have specially designed calendars.

Pappu distributed sweets and chaats at his shop free of cost this evening.

He also decorated the shop in his own style as a tribute to his matinee idol.
